RamMudra™ Security: Fraud Prevention, Nominees & What Happens If Something Goes Wrong

How RamMudra™ protects your account, fraud prevention, OTP/password safety, nominee process, and what happens in insolvency or account discontinuation.

Beyond how your gold itself is stored, there's a separate set of questions worth answering: how does RamMudra™ protect your account day-to-day, what happens to your holding if you're not around to manage it, and what are your protections if something goes seriously wrong. Here's all of that in one place.

Can RamMudra™ ask for additional documents later?

Yes. RamMudra™ may ask for additional information or documents when needed to verify your account, process certain transactions, meet compliance requirements, or prevent fraud.

Will RamMudra™ ever ask for my OTP, UPI PIN or password?

No. Never share your OTP, UPI PIN, password or other authentication details with anyone.

RamMudra™ support representatives will never ask you to disclose confidential payment or login credentials. If someone asks for these details while claiming to represent RamMudra™, do not share them, and report the incident through official support channels.

What should I do if I notice a fraudulent or unauthorised transaction?

Contact RamMudra™ Customer Support immediately through official support channels. Keep your transaction details and any relevant information ready so the team can investigate and guide you through next steps. In some cases, additional documentation or a report to the relevant authority may be required.

What happens to my digital gold if I pass away?

Your gold holdings can be transferred or settled through the applicable nominee or legal-heir process, subject to the required documentation and applicable laws.

Is RamMudra™ Digital Gold regulated like a Gold ETF?

Digital Gold and Gold ETFs are different products with different regulatory frameworks. Gold ETFs are regulated under the SEBI framework, while Digital Gold follows a different framework.

RamMudra™ is in the process of registering as a Founding Charter Member of Digital Payments and Money Laundering Compliance Association of India (DPMACI), which focuses on standards for transparency, physical backing and customer protection. At RamMudra™, we believe owning gold should be simple, transparent and backed by real physical gold.

What happens if RamMudra™ faces insolvency or liquidation?

RamMudra™'s structure includes custody and Security Trustee arrangements designed to safeguard customer interests. If RamMudra™ were to face insolvency or liquidation, customers are protected and their gold holdings transferred, sold or redeemed in their favour in accordance with the applicable terms and legal framework.

What happens if my RamMudra™ account or service is discontinued?

If an account or service is discontinued, your remaining gold holdings will be handled according to the applicable RamMudra™ terms. Depending on the circumstances and quantity held, this may involve physical delivery, sale of the gold, or settlement of fractional holdings, after applicable charges.

How can I contact RamMudra™ Customer Support?

You can reach Customer Support for help with your account, transactions, payments, KYC, redemption, delivery and other concerns at [email protected]. If a concern isn't resolved, you can escalate it through the grievance redressal process at [email protected].

The takeaway

RamMudra™'s protections layer in a few different directions: fraud prevention practices (never sharing OTPs/passwords, verified support channels), a nominee process so your holding doesn't get stuck if something happens to you, and a Security Trustee/custody structure designed to protect customer interests if RamMudra™ itself runs into trouble. None of this amounts to an unconditional guarantee, but it's a meaningfully different position from an app with no such structure in place at all.
